Mission

I have concluded that all the accumulation of wealth, even if I could achieve it, is an insufficient reason for living. Nor, is fame of any lasting benefit. When I reach the end of my days, I must be able to look backward on more than just Gold Gloves, All-Star Games, World Championships and records. I will consider my earthly existence to have been wasted, unless I recall a loving family, a consistent investment in the lives of people, and an earnest attempt to serve the one and only God, who made me! And, nothing else makes much sense.    Jim’s Personal Mission Statement

Pictured here are Jim, Hall of Fame catcher, Johnny Bench, and one future Hall of Famer, Ivan Rodriquez. It represents 29 Gold Gloves won by the group and signed by all. There are only 8 in existence, and Jim’s glove was used in his last MLB game.
While playing Major League Baseball was a childhood dream, Jim never thought when he started his career in ’74 that he would play 16 years. 1st and last hit, 4 of 64 cards published.
